SATURDAY, JULY 12 from 2-4pm in Doylestown:

ARTISTS RECEPTION featuring artwork of Gale Scotch and Natalie Napoleon Wi. Gale, a New Hope resident, paints local scenes in brilliant oil colors. Natalie owns and operates Allure West Studios in Doylestown, her third photography studio since 2001. Enjoy refreshments during the reception with our oils and vinegars and have fun talking with the artists. We are also introducing a group of 9 New Hope-Lambertville artists called, The Painter’s Collective. Artwork changes monthly, with an opening reception on the first Saturday of each month. Art will be for sale and on display through the end of July.

GUEST CHEF AJ BUEHLER & MANAGER AMANDA BUEHLER FROM KARLTON CAFE IN QUAKERTOWN: They are back as Guest Chefs to spotlight a renown recipe from their eclectic restaurant. Chef AJ’s farming background lends itself perfectly to the “farm to table” movement, which abounds in the cuisine at the Cafe. WEDNESDAY Evenings in Doylestown from 6-8pm:

TEA CLASSES taught by Certified Tea Specialist Deb Raab of Tea-for-All in Hopewell, NJ are $20 per person. Contact the Doylestown store for reservations. Our importer, Veronica Foods, is dedicated to sourcing our stores with the freshest and most nutritious olive oils in the world.  Our new fresh and flavorful “northern hemisphere” extra virgin olive oils have arrived. Tea_for_All_The_Tubby_OliveThe Tubby Olive in DOYLESTOWN now carries gourmet teas from Tea-for-All based in Hopewell, New Jersey. We carry specialty teas such as Chocolate Raspberry Black Tea, Dragonwell Great Tea, and Organic Detoxify Herbal Tea. Our NEWTOWN store now carries four varieties of Tea-for-All teas.

Tea-For-All was founded in 2011 by Deb Raab, evolving from her personal love for the culture and rituals of tea and for an appreciation for the care and craftsmanship that goes into each individual tea type.  She was recently joined in the business by her husband Mike.  Both Mike and Deb are Certified Tea Specialists, accredited by Specialty Tea Institute, Division of The Tea Association of the US.  They eagerly share their knowledge through offering a wide variety of tea learning and tasting events throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  We are thrilled to offer their products to our customers!

Refreshing and Light Summer Salad

1 T Tubby Olive Traditional Olive Oil
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
2 c quinoa
4 c vegetable or chicken stock
1 t freshly grated lemon zest
1 small zucchini, diced
1 small container cherry tomatoes, halved
2 t parsley, chopped
2 T fresh basil, chiffonade
1/4 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels
1 small Kirby cucumber, small dice
1 can cannelloni beans, drained and rinsed
3 T fresh lemon juice
1 t fresh lime juice
2 scallions, sliced thin
1/4 c feta cheese, crumbled
Tubby Olive Persian Lime Oil
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Directions: Place olive oil in a large skillet, and heat over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add quinoa and cook for 5 minutes, stirring until grains are lightly browned. Add stock, lemon zest and zucchini. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let cook, covered, for 15 minutes until all liquid is absorbed. Transfer quinoa to a large bowl, and let cool for 10 minutes. Add all veggies, beans and juices, feta, salt and pepper. Garnish with scallions. Drizzle with Tubby Olive Persian Lime Olive Oil.
